Junior Oilers To Host Camp for New U-16 and U-18 Teams
ATTENTION YOUTH HOCKEY PLAYERS AND PARENTS:
The Tulsa Junior Oilers are expanding their program to include two more competitive teams at the U-16 and U-18 levels. In order to find talent for these new squads, the Tulsa Junior Oilers are hosting a prospect camp from June 7-9 at the Oilers Ice Center (6413 S. Mingo Rd.).
Under the direction of Junior Oilers Head Coach Zac Desjardins, the prospect camp will provide players with several opportunities to display their talents in order to ensure that each player is given the same chance to earn a spot on the roster.
“The creation of these teams will give local players the opportunity to advance their hockey skills and careers from right here in Tulsa,” said Tulsa Oilers General Manager, Taylor Hall. “These are elite, competitive programs designed to prepare kids for junior hockey and college hockey. By providing quality coaching and a daily practice regimen, these teams will give players the necessary training to succeed in the future.”
The U-16 and U-18 Junior Oilers teams will compete in the Western States Hockey League and their season will run from September through March. The prospect camp cost is $150.00 and is open to players from ages 14-18. The three-day camp will be broken up into four sessions.
- Friday, June 7 – 5:30-7 p.m.
- Saturday, June 8 – 4:15-5:30 p.m. & 8-9:15 p.m.
- Sunday, June 9 – 7-8:15 a.m.
“We’re excited to offer this kind of program and we’re expecting a great turnout at this camp,” Hall said. “We want to develop home grown talent from right here in Tulsa and the surrounding region and we feel like these teams will give local kids a better option than having to move or travel long distances to play competitive hockey.”
